Install ImageMagick 7.0.7-1 on Ubuntu & CentOS 7

ImageMagick 7.0.7-1 recently released, is an app that allows you to create, edit, compose, as well as convert bitmap images. ImageMagick reads and writes images in various formats such as PNG, JPEG, JPEG-2000, GIF, TIFF, DPXEXR, WebP, Postscript, PDF, and SVG.

Also it can be used to resize, flip, mirror, rotate, di09stort, shear and transform images, adjust image colors, apply various special effects, or draw text, lines, polygons, ellipses and Bézier curves. Before we proceed on how to install ImageMagick on Ubuntu, lets take a quick look at its features.

Download ImageMagick

Install ImageMagick on Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 15.01, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04

wget http://www.imagemagick.org/download/ImageMagick.tar.gz
tar -xvf ImageMagick.tar.gz
cd ImageMagick-7.0.*
./configure --prefix=/usr
make
sudo make install
sudo ldconfig /usr/local/lib
display

Install ImageMagick on CentOS 7

wget http://www.imagemagick.org/download/ImageMagick.tar.gz
tar -xvf ImageMagick.tar.gz
cd ImageMagick-7.0.*
./configure --prefix=/usr
make
sudo make install
sudo ldconfig /usr/local/lib
display
