How to install Lollypop 0.9.244 – GNOME Audio Player on Linux

Lollypop is an open-source GNOME audio player built with GTK+3, and was created as an alternative to Rhythmbox Music Player. Lollypop supports mp3/4, ogg as well as flac, Genre/Artist/Cover browsing, Search, Genre/Cover browsing, Queue, Party mode, Replay gain, Cover art downloader, Context artist view. Before we proceed on how to install lollypop on ubuntu, lets take a quick look at its features.

How to install Lollypop on Ubuntu 17.04, Ubuntu 16.10, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnumdk/lollypop
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install lollypop

On unity desktop, disable the overlay scrollbars

gsettings set com.canonical.desktop.interface scrollbar-mode normal

Install Lollypop on OpenSUSE and derivative systems:

sudo wget http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/gnumdk31/openSUSE_13.2/home:gnumdk31.repo -O /etc/zypp/repos.d/home:gnumdk31.repo
sudo zypper refresh && sudo zypper install lollypop

Uninstall Lollypop from OpenSUSE:

sudo zypper remove lollypop

Install App on Fedora 22 and derivative systems:

sudo yum install dnf-plugin-copr
sudo dnf copr enable gnumdk/lollypop && sudo dnf install lollypop

Remove App from Fedora 22:

sudo yum remove lollypop
